Lansdowne Gardens

Before

Turning a dark hallway into a light welcoming entrance to the house. We chatted with our client and decided on fresh greens and the addition of dado rails in order to disguise any future marks on the bottom of the walls.

work in progress

Prepping walls and woodwork ready for priming and top coating.

After

Wallpaper stripped back to bare plaster that needed skimming and sanding to achieve a good finish. Dado rails added.

Lansdowne Gardens | Lounge

The Lounge is a communal room for reading, computers and TV. We chose colours to make the room warm and relaxing with accents of yellow and a floral mural to add more warmth and radiate summer even in the winter months.

Lansdown Gardens | The Pool Room

The Pool room was completely stripped and skim plastered as the walls were heavily dented and marked with patches of old plaster missing. We kept it light with white walls and an orange feature wall. We finished the look with some bright stripes around the room and an artsy mural of a pool player.

Christchurch

We spent February and March with 3 houses to redecorate, remove wallpaper, fix broken plaster surrounding the doors and remove wires and boards. As these houses are used for the safe rehoming of young adults we spent extra care to design the colours and feature walls to make these properties modern and homely for the residents.

On a roll

With Christmas out of the way, we started our next contract for some more flats in Bournemouth. A tedious task of removing glued tiles and hooks from the kitchen & treating damp walls. Again, happy clients and fresh new flats.

Setting up a partnership

Fine Lines painting and decorating is a family business, set up by mother and daughter after an evening talking about our jobs with a bottle of Malbec.. or two! We were both unhappy in our works lives and decided we would try something new. As a mural artist for twenty years and set designer, often having Courtney come in to learn and help finish projects, painting and decorating seemed a natural step.

We created our name, registered our partnership and built the website; Got our insurance and t's and c's written up, designed our logo and got equipped to start and shortly began the search for our first contract.
