Mural Painting and design, the full works

Creating something spectacular

Our expertise extends to creating both interior and exterior murals in both commercial and private spaces, as well as installing mural photo walls featuring printed designs. We have worked on restaurant and coffee-shops, crazy-golf themes, residential day rooms, vetinary surgeries, offices, pubs and signage as well as the private rooms and gardens of family homes.

Planning a mural

Mock ups and brainstorming

Our initial discussions will be about the mood of the space and your desired feel of the room for anyone that enters.

A few ideas would be:

  • Enlarge & Transport (Serene/Expansive Mood): Perfect for small rooms, windowless basements, or narrow hallways. Use trompe l'oeil architectural tricks like fake stone arches, open windows, glass doorways, or grand garden trellises.
  • Cozy & Grand (Sophisticated/Intimate Mood): Ideal for dining rooms or libraries. Mimic classical textures like faux wood paneling, marble columns, or a continuous wrap-around library bookshelf to ground the space.
  • Whimsical & Dreamy (Playful/Relaxing Mood): Best suited for bedrooms or ceilings. Create an optical illusion of a glass dome opening up into a cloudy blue sky or a dense, misty forest canopy overhead.

We offer paint effects, trompe l'oeil, artistic murals or geometric shapes, lime wash effects or real lime wash. Each of these themes will give you a different response and would suit different areas of living spaces.

Exterior Garden Murals

Tikki bar theme

Brick surfaces can be a challenge but with the right primers and paints with uv protection a stark wall can be a lot of fun!

We were asked to paint a colourful tikki bar inspired theme for these customers.

Little boy's bedroom

Who loved the Vulcan, Concorde and the Red Arrows

This little boy wanted a reminder of his family holiday to Italy on a cruise ship, especially the slides as well as the red arrows, a concord and vulcan planes. A challenge but I think we did it.

The Mural design process

Mood boards and colour theory

Mood boards are a great way of saving ideas and making a visual chart of how you want your room to look. Look at the tones and colours that enhance any furnishings that you will be keeping. Doors and windows can be included, whether they are wood or painted or maybe wood that you wish to paint. Save any images of similar spaces and work out what it is you like about the design. This could be the colours of the walls, how the light is used and any design features that appeal to you, or it could be simply the general atmosphere of the space.

Planning a bespoke design

We can use photoshop software in our design process to translate our ideas into a visible plan to send over to the client when we are in the design process. The planning and preparation pays off when it comes to the timing of the physical work, which we can estimate very closely to provide a completion date.

For our bespoke hand-painted mural designs , these can also be created offsite for commercial projects that do not want to disrupt daily business, by using high quality canvas that can be installed very quickly at a convenient time.
